모든 억압의 권력은 책을 두려워합니다. 2023년에도 도서관은 문을 닫고 일부 도서는 열람을 제한 당합니다.

10월 낭독 모임에서 Ray Bradbury의 Fahrenheit 451을 함께 읽으며 현실로 다가온 상상과 마주해 보겠습니다.

And then Clarisse McClellan said:

“Do you mind if I ask? How long’ve you worked at being a fireman?”

“Since I was twenty, ten years ago.”

“Do you ever read any of the books you burn?”

He laughed. “That’s against the law!”

They walked still further and the girl said, “Is it true that long ago firemen put fires out instead of going to start them?”

“No. Houses have always been fireproof, take my word for it.”

“Strange. I heard once that a long time ago houses used to burn by accident and they needed firemen to stop the flames.”
